Madrid tourist information & tourist offices

Madrid is the largest city in Spain, receives the highest number of visitors in the country and is the fourth city in Europe with regards to tourist volume. To satisfy such a demand, the City of Madrid offers visitors various tourism information offices and the information line 010.

Madrid Tourist Information Offices and tourist informationThe main Madrid Tourist Information Office is located at Plaza Mayor 27 (Tel. 915 881 636. Metro Sol). This tourist office is an essential stop for any tourists in Madrid. The tourism office is open 365 days a year from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. You can pick up pamphlets, maps, schedules and speak with the multilingual staff. The Tourist Information Office also offers free WIFI access to the internet as well as computers accessible to the general public.

The Colón Tourism Centre is also a key starting point when it comes to touring Madrid. Centrally located at Plaza de Colón, by Paseo de Recoletos, this tourism information centre offers extensive tourist and cultural Madrid information. The center counts with professional staff offering personalized information in several languages, reference material, eight free internet access points and two audiovisual rooms showing tourist related screenings. The center is open 365 days a year from 09:30 to 20:30 hours.

At Barajas Airport, there are two very useful tourism information offices at Terminal 1 and Terminal 4. These offices are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the year. At the offices you can find a multilingual service staff, maps, pamphlets and general interest information.

There are two other tourism information offices located on Calle Duque de Medinaceli 2, Atocha Station (Plaza Emperador Carlos V) and Chamartín Station (Calle Agustín de Foxa).

The City of Madrid also offers tourists and residents the information line 010. Through this line you can get information about:

  • Cultural and leisure events (expositions, concerts, performances…)
  • Buildings and infrastructure (public buildings, administrations, official entities...)
  • Museums, theaters and cultural centers
  • Administrative services (documentation, taxes, assistance, aid)
  • Transport

The information line 010 is available from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays (except in August)
